Inspiring Governance connects skilled volunteers who are interested in serving as school governors with schools in England.
From April 1st, 2021, the service is re-focussing in order to:
- Increase the number of volunteers looking to become a governor, especially those with the experience and priority skill sets that governing boards are seeking
- Support governing boards to develop a wider breadth of thinking, skills, and decision-making by increasing the number of governors from diverse and younger backgrounds
- Increase the support it gives to governing boards of schools that have been deemed requires improvement or inadequate, supporting them to assemble a strong governing board
Inspiring Governance is delivered by the charity Education and Employers and is funded by the Department for Education.
